Partnerships
Through a partnership with Prince William County and through a donation from the Hylton Foundation the Hylton Boys & Girls Club opened its doors in 1991.
The Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC) provides underrepresented youth and adults with educational opportunities in theater and performing arts to promote problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills. Since its establishment in 2002, CAPAC’s programming has evolved over the years to blend performing arts with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics STEM education to create a STEAM-based learning model.
To use education, mentoring, training, practical experiences, and mastery of 21st century technology in order to create a pipeline of young men from underserved communities who excel in STEM related careers and positively influence their communities.
Geared at changing the trends that have negatively impacted minorities in our communities and put them on a path that instills pride in oneself, reiterates the importance and value of diversity, encourages the pursuit of education, and facilitates the advancement of one’s thinking to rise above the situations that are intended to attack our character and destroy our moral fiber.
